Active Flexibility


Bend but don’t break! In this class, we will focus on active flexibility for safe and effective range of motion increases. After a warming up, we will go through a series of active flexibility conditioning exercises followed by longer active holds and then more relaxed yin-style holds. Each class will be directed at a different targeted area (backbends, splits, straddles, pikes, twists pigeons…) and rotate week to week. But don’t worry – there’s a lot of overlap between them. Whether you’re working on touching your toes for the first time or holding an active split on the silks, this class is designed to help build muscular strength to hold beautiful lines. PLEASE BRING SOCKS! Kneepads optional as cushy mats are provided, but you can bring kneepads or a small pillow if you have extra sensitive knees.
